SUGAR MOMMY On Tuesday afternoon, Zero's clamshell will ping! from wherever they have it. Should they pick it up to see what all the fuss is about, they will realize that their RULEBOOK app has updated to version 2.0. Opening the app will reveal that there has been an addendum to the rules... but one that seems meant exclusively for them. No other survivor will be able to see these additions. They read as such: 1. Each week, you will select ONE out of three options. 2.You will NOT KNOW what any of these options are until YOU HAVE SELECTED ONE. 3. The results may be BENEFICIAL OR DETRIMENTAL TO THE GROUP. 4. You CANNOT TAKE BACK YOUR CHOICE once it is made. 5. You may PRIVATELY CONFIRM YOUR ROLE if asked, but you may not FREELY OFFER THE INFORMATION to others. A notification will arrive the moment they have finished reading through the update. Its contents are no less confusing. [A meal table sits in one corner of the room. On it, she will spot three crystal fleshlights — each one of them with what appears to be a glowing sphere of light trapped inside of them.

To make your choice, please reply to this comment indicating if she will select the right, center or left fleshlight. She must dig her fingers into it to pull out the sphere of light and get results. You have until Wednesday, 12:00 PM PST/3:00 PM EST to make this choice.]

[WELL.

There's no time for Zero to walk back to Carlos, because something will happen the moment she pulls the sphere out of the fleshlight. Zero will only have a moment to observe the light before it flashes, temporarily blinding her for all of two seconds. When she regains her bearings, she'll realize that both the sphere and the fleshlight have gone missing.

In its place sits a cardboard box just a little bit larger than Zero's own hand.

Behind her, Carlos lets out a sigh of relief.]

See? Your luck isn't as bad you think.

[ her entire life up to this point would say otherwise, but ok mr. himbo

Zero absently weighs the box in her hand. is it safe to open...? ]

Alright, I'll bite. What is it?

[It's relatively light! It has a bit of weight to it, but not to the point where it's uncomfortable to hold onto for too long. It is, indeed, safe to open — and Carlos will gesture at the box.]

When Zero opens the box up, however, she will find a recorder. It does not seem to be loaded with a cassette, and there is a note pinned to the slot where batteries would go.

It reads:]

BATTERIES & CASSETTE NOT INCLUDED.
ONE USE ONLY.

[The recorder does nothing! It has no batteries, after all.]

It's missing some parts, but normally? It'll record anything it hears once you press the right button.

[A pause, as he tilts his head.]

... I think this one will let you record up to a minute if you leave it somewhere. But you have to assemble it first.

A minute? I've had shits that lasted longer than that.

[ closes my eyes very tiredly and anticipates Zero dumping this somewhere and forgetting about it ]

And lemme guess - the missing parts are going to cost sex tokens or I'll have to bargain with a demon or something stupid like that.

Why would you bargain with a demon?

[He sounds genuinely baffled. Either way, her question ultimately gets a shake of his head.]

It's nothing like that. Find the components. Whatever method you use is up to you.

People make deals with stupid things all the time - they just have to be desparate enough. A demon is hardly out of the question

[Carlos is waiting for her inside the hospital room, staring at the heart monitor when she arrives. He'll glance up as she walks into the room, lifting a hand in greeting.]

[ she'll scan the room again but nope - looks like it's the same place, same beeping, same do-gooder. ]

So, can you tell me what it was now?

Carlos glances at the meal table where the fleshlights are, thoughtfully.]

Zero follows his gaze to the sex toys. and pulls a face. ]

The towel or the vest? Both of them seemed to be pretty pointless.

... Are the possibilities at least switched around from last time?

[He starts to say something, before clamping his mouth shut like he's swallowed something bitter. After a moment, he shrugs.]

I don't know what each possibility is until you've picked it. They could be in a different order, or they could be the same as last time. Right now, they just look like fleshlights to me.
