GRAVEYARD

GRAVEYARD
POPULATION: 17

Abruptly, you come to.

The sun is hot on your back, but there's the gentle lapping of cool water on your feet and legs as you regain your consciousness. Beneath you is sand - lots and lots of sand, some of it wet, the majority of it dry and burning. You hear the sound a seagull crying from somewhere up above you, and you can smell and almost taste the tang of salt in the air.

You've found yourself washed up on what appears to be some kind of tropical island - one of your hands is gripping your clamshell, even if you didn't have it in your hand before you died. It's bright and well-lit, and there's the sound of voices from somewhere a ways away from the beach.

Lastly, as you sit up, if you had some kind of supernatural power before coming here, you notice one thing in particular - that power that you were so familiar with before it vanished upon your awakening inside the hotel?

It's back.

Welcome to paradise. You won't be leaving here any time soon.

Welcome to the graveyard! Though your character is now out of the living side of the game, this does not mean they are fully removed from the action. We have several mechanics and events planned that will allow the dead to affect the course of the game just as much, if not more, than those on the living side. We will announce these opportunities as they happen in the #graveyard-announcements channel. But in the meantime, here are a couple of neat things to consider as you settle into the graveyard!

1. As mentioned above, all characters will wake up with their clamshell in hand. While there's no place to use Finansex at this moment, characters will still have access to the My Appointments app to request NPC audiences. Go forth and request private meetings as your heart desires.

2. The graveyard has its very own location page. You can check it out over here to see what kind of shenanigans your characters can get up to while on the island.

3. Additionally, powers are now available. While some may still be nerfed if they are too game breaking, most characters will wake up to find that the majority of their powers have been reactivated. Should you have any questions or concerns about this, don't hesitate to contact us.

We hope you have fun!

I think his issue might have been compounded by other things, but then again, it isn't as if I could see how he was explaining himself.

[ she can't dunk on him for the "it was from a bj" defense because she doesn't know he used that defense ]

I wouldn't know either, but with an assassin's skills, there is no way he'd have killed me that way himself.

[ he might still be a little salty about his very not aesthetic death? huffs. ]

In this case, there are enough of us around who are skilled with swords to pass the blame to someone else, especially with the both of the Genjis there. They're known for cutting through men.

[ please don't remind her about hers. ]

Is that so? Quite the legends for ones so earnest to possess. Is it something that would have been widely known among those here?

I mean, I know hardly any of us should be evaluated at face value. I just think I would have cast the net as wide and as vaguely as possible, if I'd been inclined to try to kill someone and hope to get away with as little suspicion as possible. That is, without taking into account any potential grudges.

We know each others' legends, at least in passing. Whether anyone else would know depends on who they would tell.

[ prompto being one of them, but obviously he's. here with all of them. and also dead. anyway kanesan is nodding. ]

I would too, yes. All the same - the one in control wouldn't have been you, but the demon, right? It may not have cared to put so much thought into it, and only did what it wanted to do without considering the consequences. We never did learn much about them or why they do these things.

Ugh, don't remind me. Even the most destructive and malicious of sorts usually have at least some reason for what they do, but these demons...

[ she huffs a sigh, turning herself midair to sprawl onto her side. ]

If we hadn't been catching them, and they kept up as they have, eventually the only ones left would have been the demons themselves. While it's clear enough they're not inclined to work together, if that's the goal they're working towards it all seems incredibly pointless, don't you think?

[personal profile] namelessfighter 2019-11-10 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I don't know they even have a goal, outside of wreaking chaos. What else would they want, besides sex?
schismanic: (i'll leave it up to thee)

[personal profile] schismanic 2019-11-10 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
If their goal was sex, killing the other people you could have sex with sounds terribly counterproductive.

[ bluntly. though... actually... ]

You know, has anyone actually inquired into this? It would be silly if this sort of thing was information we had access to, but missed simply because we didn't think to ask.
namelessfighter: (oh?)

[personal profile] namelessfighter 2019-11-10 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ a nod... but wait a second. hm. ]

I... don't know, actually. That's something we should ask Carlos or Polly once the trial is over.
schismanic: (tell me i deserve this)

[personal profile] schismanic 2019-11-10 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
It probably would be a good idea to, at this point...

[ they're dead and you're telling them they might have to work? wow. ]
namelessfighter: (getting rusty)

[personal profile] namelessfighter 2019-11-10 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Knowing them, it's something we'd have to have sex with them to learn, though...

[ sigh. he doesn't want to! ]
schismanic: (i wish i had never seen)

[personal profile] schismanic 2019-11-10 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's fine. If it comes down to that, I won't mind too much.

[ as long as it's not like, horrifying illumi-transformation tier she'd probably be able to get over it. ]
namelessfighter: (sometimes he uses that one braincell)

[personal profile] namelessfighter 2019-11-10 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Then I'll leave it to you. I'd prefer to use other methods, if we can.
schismanic: (then you can be my limitations)

[personal profile] schismanic 2019-11-10 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
We all have to pitch in somehow, right? Let's all make sure to do our best, however it is we decide to do that.
