GRAVEYARD POPULATION: 17 Abruptly, you come to. The sun is hot on your back, but there's the gentle lapping of cool water on your feet and legs as you regain your consciousness. Beneath you is sand - lots and lots of sand, some of it wet, the majority of it dry and burning. You hear the sound a seagull crying from somewhere up above you, and you can smell and almost taste the tang of salt in the air. You've found yourself washed up on what appears to be some kind of tropical island - one of your hands is gripping your clamshell, even if you didn't have it in your hand before you died. It's bright and well-lit, and there's the sound of voices from somewhere a ways away from the beach. Lastly, as you sit up, if you had some kind of supernatural power before coming here, you notice one thing in particular - that power that you were so familiar with before it vanished upon your awakening inside the hotel? It's back. Welcome to paradise. You won't be leaving here any time soon. - - - Welcome to the graveyard! Though your character is now out of the living side of the game, this does not mean they are fully removed from the action. We have several mechanics and events planned that will allow the dead to affect the course of the game just as much, if not more, than those on the living side. We will announce these opportunities as they happen in the #graveyard-announcements channel. But in the meantime, here are a couple of neat things to consider as you settle into the graveyard! 1. As mentioned above, all characters will wake up with their clamshell in hand. While there's no place to use Finansex at this moment, characters will still have access to the My Appointments app to request NPC audiences. Go forth and request private meetings as your heart desires. 2. The graveyard has its very own location page. You can check it out over here to see what kind of shenanigans your characters can get up to while on the island. 3. Additionally, powers are now available. While some may still be nerfed if they are too game breaking, most characters will wake up to find that the majority of their powers have been reactivated. TALK TO CARLOS

[When not chilling in the apartment complex, Carlos can easily be found walking around the island. He will stop for anyone who tries to flag him down, and is more than happy to chat or answer any questions the recently deceased may have.]

TALK TO POLLY

[When she's not in the apartments, to no one's surprise at all, Polly can often be found having a drink at the outdoor bar or tanning herself (despite the fact that ghosts can't get a tan) in the nude on the beach. She's glad to chat or answer any questions.]

[ He doesn't wake gently, but rather violently. Immediately sitting up as he scoots himself back, his hand going to his neck to feel for a wound as he winds up butt deep in water. Then it clicks in he's some where new and he's missing the cut.

Prompto's breathing doesn't slow down because he's now freaking over something else entirely. ]

Oh boy. Did I- Did I get thrown over board?

[ It wouldn't be the first time he's been pushed off a moving vehicle and split from his friends. He doesn't recognize the place, and he doesn't see the ship. Drawing his knees to his chest to just bury his face there. He's been split up from everyone. He's been split up from Hizamaru and he's all alone again. ]

Ah ha ha... guess it beats the snow?

[ He's sniffling though. Give him a moment to fall to pieces before he realizes he's not the only one on the beach. ]

[ Monika, too, wakes violently. Gasping, clutching her chest. She remembers walking into the ballroom. She remembers feeling herself laugh.

Seeing Hizamaru was the worst part, though.

And now she wakes on the sand and the first thing she does is spring to her feet, immediately hyperventilating, hugging herself, twisting this way and that as if looking for some unseen enemy.

But her actions are her own. The demon is gone.

Like Prompto, she needs a little time to sit down and cry.

Curiosity, however, eventually drives her to her feet. Curiosity, and a certain feeling of conviction.

Of course, wandering around eventually takes her to where he’s sitting, and—

Oh boy. She stops. ]

... Prompto?

[ Man, she goes looking for him, but didn’t expect to actually find him easily! ]

Carlos!

[ When she spots him she’ll beam, trotting over. ]

It’s good to see you again.

[silvergun]

[ He doesn't even hear her approach until she says his name. He lifts his head up and it finally clicks it's her. He immediately flinches, groping around beside him for a gun that isn't there. ]

A-are you you?!

[ She isn't holding a cleaver or glass. She isn't wearing that look the demon was wearing, but he can't calm down. Not until he's sure. ]

[silvergun]

[ He's going to accidentally stumble on her tanning herself. ]

Whoa! Where are your clothes?!

[ Covering up his own face. Why is this? A thing? ]

[silvergun]

[ Giving him a wave. ]

Hey! How's the uh. Everything over here?

[rewords]

[ Monika skips back a step, instantly terrified, hearing gunshots.

But there’s no gun, and she’s just a girl.

Her hands lift and cover her mouth, her eyes wet. But quickly, she’ll nod. ]

It’s just me. They— they exorcized me. I don’t know what happened after that, but...

It’s gone.

[ slowly her hands lower, until she’s clasping them over her chest. ]

I won’t come nearer if you don’t want me to. I just ... oh, Prompto. I’m so sorry.

[silvergun]

[ Is she hearing gunshots or IYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

His shoulders droop and he lowers his head. ]

That's a relief!

[ Just going to slowly stand up so he's no longer in the water. He feels like he might still be back there in the aquarium even with things being sunny and sandy here. ]

You don't. You don't have to stay away. I know it wasn't you.

[ That's actually way more traumatizing, thanks!

She blinks when he stands, and kind of has a deer in the headlights look. A breath, another, and then she's covering her face again because she's trying not to cry. ]

[tricycles]

Ah— Prompto.

[Raising his hand in a lazy greeting, smiling!! Carlos is clearly happy to see him, but...]

It's peaceful, that much I can tell you. [But, his smile is turning into a frown.] ... I really wish I didn't have to see you again so soon. How are you feeling?

[ He starts trying to brush some of the sand off, until he sees her covering her face. Taking a tentative step towards her. ]

Hey hey. It's okay. We're safe now, right?

[ That's what the accidental npcs said before ]

You and me both I guess. Not that it's bad seeing you, but you know...

[ Vaguely gestures. ]/small>

The whole dying to get here and not being with H- friends kind of sucks. Other than that, I'm good. Is it uh. Just you and Polly here?

Somewhere they won't block the sun.

[He sounds relieved to see her in one piece, smiling as she approaches him. Hewwo.]

It's good to see you, too. [Ah. But the fact that he's happy to see her does nothing to keep this from being bittersweet.] ... I'm sorry it had to be so soon, though.

[Prompto is trying his best and Carlos supports him 100%.]

[Haha. He doesn't look like he expected that question, so he does have to take a moment to, like. Think.]

You know... It wasn't, actually. It looks like she's sorry for what she did. And it's not like she's the first person to murder me. [...] Still angry that she dragged all of our friends into this, though.

[Murder him? That's fine. Drag people he likes into this mess, though? The worst.]
