On Monday afternoon, Izuminokami's clamshell will ping! from wherever he has it. Should he pick it up to see what all the fuss is about, he will realize that his RULEBOOK app has updated to version 2.0. Opening the app will reveal that there has been an addendum to the rules... but one that seems meant exclusively for him. No other survivor will be able to see these additions.

They read as such:

1. Each week, you will be given A TASK by your guides.
2. The specifics of this task will VARY FROM WEEK TO WEEK, and there's no guarantee that any two tasks will be the same.
3. You MUST COMPLETE THIS TASK BEFORE THE DAY OF THE TRIAL, regardless of what it entails.
4. You may PRIVATELY CONFIRM YOUR ROLE if asked, but you may not OFFER THE INFORMATION FREELY to others.

A notification will arrive the moment he has finished reading through the update. Its contents are no less confusing.

Other things that are weird? The fact that the moment he opens a door and walk through it, he will find himself falling face first an entirely new location. Particularly, one that doesn't seem to fit into any part of the hotel, and absolutely not one that they meant to go through. As he regains his bearings and looks at his surroundings, he'll realize that the door he walked through is no longer there. It seems like he has only one choice, and that's to walk forward until he reaches his destination.

It is there that he will find a familiar face...

Yeah. The effects of it, how to diagnose it in someone, if there's a way to get rid of it... if you or Nathan might be immune to it. Things like that.

Mm. That's kind of the thing, though.

[he pauses, taking a moment to stretch out before settling back in; chuuya does continue playing with his hair, though.]

You know how people got warnings last time-- the visions they talked about?

It's still happening... but there's no sign of it anymore. Guess they wanted to scare you guys the first time.

So there's no way to know if someone's contracted it?

[ well that's just great! ]

Then what will happen to the carriers?

Nothing, once it passes to somebody else.

[a slight shrug, there.]

Then what is it, exactly? Just an extra compulsion for us to have sex? Or is there more to it than that?

[he's speaking carefully now, though.]

I only know what Nikkari told us about it - the visions, and the certainty that you'll die if you don't have sex. Is that what it is?

That part's what isn't happening anymore. What caused those-- it's still occurring.

The only suggestion Nikkari had for what caused it was the demon possessing Monika, but we know that it escaped during the ritual...

[ - ah. ]

...Do you mean it's found a new host?

All I can tell you from here is that you guys can put things together, with what you've got.

[kanesan can take that answer as he will-- chuuya sounds a little apologetic, as usual when he runs into things he can't say.]

[ he doesn't look satisfied with that answer, because he. doesn't know? people don't tell him things?? but chuuya is trying, so he won't press. ]

And you - are you immune to it?

[he believes in you guys to work it out, okay. sometimes.

but after a brief hum-]

As for the rest of us... there's no way to protect ourselves from it, is there?

[mmmmm... he hums again, then shrugs slightly.]

Can't answer that for you right now.

But you might be able to answer at some point, then. Any idea when that might be?

[ he pauses thoughtfully. ]

...Or if there's a cure for it, in the meantime.
