Zero's fingertips come in contact with the doorknob, and suddenly — both girls will hear something click. A moment later, the doorknob will twist by itself and the door will swing open.
There is complete and utter darkness beyond it. None of the light from the hallway filters into the room.
[Though Muzet's clamshell produces a little bit of light, it's in now way enough for them to properly see anything while standing outside the room. Zero won't be able to find a light switch from where she's standing, either.]
[ well, even a little light is better than absolutely nothing. Zero will pull out her clamshell to try and illuminate their surroundings a bit more, and take another slow, blind step into the room, scythe out and slowly sweeping across the floor in front of her. can't trip her, stupid ghosts. ]
And leave us all behind to slowly drown? Wow, thanks.
[The moment they both step into the room, the door will slam shut behind them. They will hear the lock click, and if they try the doorknob, they will find that they have been locked in.
The clamshells provide a little bit more illumination now that there's no additional source of light from anywhere else. Zero's scythe will scrape against what seems to be marble tiles, until eventually, it comes into contact with something. It makes a bit of a scraping sound as its nudged back an inch or two.
Which wall will they be following for a lightswitch? Left, right, or opposite directions.]
[Zero's scythe will continue to scrape against the marble floor as she moves along, occasionally bumping into things whenever she swings too far to the left. Eventually, she will run into a wall at the bottom of the right path.
Muzet will have a bit more luck, however. As she follows the left wall, she will eventually run into a switch on the wall.]
[Seriously, though. Muzet hits the switch, and the fluorescent tubes above them come to life. Good work finding the lightswitch! Now that they have found a source of illumination, they can finally see where the heckie they have broken into. At a simple glance, they will see...
- A restaurant dining room right in front of them. There are tables scattered across the room, each one surrounded by up to four chairs. Booths have been set up in the corners of the room, as well. - Some of the chairs to the right are crooked and faintly scratched, almost like something moved them... Zero wouldn't know anything about that, huh? - Each table has: A napkin dispenser, salt and pepper shakers, and a bottle of some pink-ish sauce. - There is a counter beyond the dining room, with a waist height rolling door. - Though they can't see all the details from there, there's a kitchen behind the counter. A row of three rotating spits is visible from where they're standing, each one already prepped with meat.
There is, in fact, something on the counter. It's a pen and a carbonless invoice book, about the size of Zero's hand. Something seems to be scribbled on it.]

Muzet steps behind the counter, Zero grabs the pen and paper, and suddenly — something happens. The lights inside the restaurant dim, as each seat in the dining area is suddenly populated by shadowy, humanoid figures. Neither Muzet nor Zero will be able to make out their features, but as they gaze upon them... They will feel as if they were looking at someone they love (platonically or romantically) from their world.
Huh.
Muzet will suddenly find one of these figures standing next to her. The figure leans against the counter and gestures at the dining area. Even though they might feel the urge to attack or step away from it, they will find themselves unable to move as the figure begins to speak.]
The job's pretty easy. You [pointing at Zero] take and serve the orders. And you [pointing at Muzet] cook. Do you want a practice round before we start, or are you girls good to go?
[The voice, for some reason, will sound like their own.
And while they're unable to move, their lips and vocal chords are working just fine.]
