Hello, friends, and welcome to the interest check for Thot or Die, an upcoming murdergame set to open Friday, October 4th. This will be a horror comedy/sex game based loosely on It Follows, and we are prepared to accommodate between 25-40 players (aside from the mod characters) with a closing date of November 23rd; for fewer than 25 players, we will run the game for a shorter length of time.
When you open your eyes, it's to a deep sense of nausea and disorientation. As you consider your character options, here are some things about the game to keep in mind:
- As such, there is no hard cast cap so as not to limit your character choices. However, we would like to prevent any single cast from overpowering the game; we'll keep an eye on it and if a single cast appears to be approaching more than 25% of the game cap, we may ask players to consider one of their other options on a case-by-case basis. - Characters will begin the game with all powers nerfed; however, characters who possess powers in canon may have the opportunity to regain them at certain points in the game. If this is of interest to you, please keep it in mind when considering your characters. - To be blunt, you will want to app characters who are willing to fuck. ICly, if they don't get down, they'll get dead; reporting who your character has slept with for the week will take the place of casting a vote for the purposes of AC, and we do not have any plans to introduce mechanics to save characters who are unwilling. While you can certainly choose to app characters who would have a harder time getting into it if you want to, it is up to you to find a way to get them to take part if you do not want them to die. - OOCly, however, you don't have to thread sex out unless all players involved are willing to. A fade-to-black is fine as long as all parties agree that it is game canon that it happened. Handwaving is also allowed for reporting if you're struggling to get your threads to a certain point (we've been there), but please note that you will miss out on IC bonuses when submitting handwaved interactions. Though these bonuses will not impact the playstyle, it's still something to keep in mind if you want to get more bang for your buck. - That said, the fuck or die mechanics will only come into play after a certain point. Characters and players alike will not have to worry about them before then. Though characters will be encouraged to have sex by the setting right from the start, please wait for the IC announcement before assuming your character will die if you don't thot! - Communication is key for this game. By virtue of the game's premise, it is very important that players be willing to communicate their boundaries and respect the boundaries of others. If anything occurs that makes you feel uncomfortable, please let us know right away so that we can help make it better; we don't want anyone to feel as though they need to avoid communicating because they don't want to make a big deal or think that they can just suck it up. While we love torturing your characters, we want to make sure that playing in the game is fun for you as a person! Reservations will open on Wednesday, September 18th, and will remain open until applications open a week later on September 25th; applications will close a week after that on October 2nd.
