[Yeah she hears the monster. Wow she can't wait to die horribly in this room that's already splattered in blood.
But since the cot didn't give her anything, Tamamo decides she has no choice but to head closer for the chair, also glancing at the walls on her way over, just in case. The chair will get a quick glance at first, with special attention paid to the seat and back, but if that turns up nothing, she is going to
actually get on the floor and try to peer underneath the seat portion, if necessary
... she'd try to move it but she doesn't trust herself not to make noise, so that'll have to do.]
[that's charming. is it the same handwriting as the previous note, or different?
anyway, after taking that note and also going through the blankets and pillow some more to be on the safe side, ASSUMING THERE'S NOTHING IN THERE kagachi's leaving now! time to invade tamamo's territory—which is to say he goes back up and down the central hallway to cell 5.]
[The puddle of blood in Dick's cell is, in fact, also dry. Checking out the bed turns up nothing of any interest, and even using his flashlight, he sees nothing underneath the bed.
Heading for the chair takes Tamamo deeper into the room, and a glance at the wall will turn up streaks of dried blood there. There's nothing on or under the chair... but while she's down there, she'll see something on the floor nearby, against the wall.
Further inspection will turn up nothing in Kagachi's chosen room! Also yes, same handwriting, same paper. But as he heads down that center hallway and enters the... vertical center hallway... he will hear a snort.
The creature's just turned into that central hallway on the north end. The lights in this hall flicker like they might go out as something large and indistinct begins to head his way-- he can see in the dim, unstable light that it has an abundance of limbs, but he can't tell anything else.]
he takes a silent step back, but—he waits. tamamo is most likely in either cell 2 or cell 3, he figures. if the monster enters the room she's in, she's trapped.
and thus, he watches to see if it looks like the monster will move into either of those cells. if so, he'll make a move.
otherwise, if it continues to pass by, he soundlessly backs up, thinking over his options.]
[The chair in Dick's cell is clear, and so is the ceiling! But in combing over the floor and that dried blood he veered away from... he'll find a loose floor tile.
What Tamamo grabs is another journal page! This one says:]
“Found him… what was left of him. It’s moved on, now. We have to hurry. Security office is password locked, though… but I found a hint? It’s six digits… some sort of sequence, but I haven’t gotten it yet.
-WHERE YOU STAND NOW -YOUR ROAD LEFT TO WALK -THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
What’s that supposed to mean?”
[Kagachi will find, in his observation, that the monster appears to be passing by those two cells. Within her cell, Tamamo will hear a low, snarling growl and see an indistinct shadow cast against the wall as it goes by.
And then it stops in the middle of the hallway, immediately outside the cell, emitting another strange growl that is not identifiable as any kind of creature either of them has heard... but it's not entering. Tamamo cannot see its shape, but she can see the shadow holds still.]
[ dick can vaguely hear the far-off growl, and he takes in a low breath. he can't rush off. he has to trust them to handle it. they're not civilians he's protecting, they can defend themselves. it's like working with the team.
so with that thought, he rushes over to the loose floor tile, taking it out to see what's hidden under there. and also picks it up if it's not, like, scorpions or something ]
[it feels like an eternity. the monster hasn't moved far enough that kagachi is willing to step away just yet, but there's no reason to make a premature move either.
so, he continues to wait. if finally, it moves past the cells, he'll duck into cell 5, but otherwise he's prepared in case tamamo is in danger.]
[What Dick finds under the tile is... another page:]
“A still-beating heart honestly sounds a little bit ominous? But we’ve seen grosser in our time here, maybe… there’s no way it has to come from that thing, though. Medical cell sounds promising? We’re going to split up and try to find a way in— the place is keycard-locked.”
[Tamamo and Kagachi's waiting game, meanwhile, pays off. The creature snorts and continues down the hall, passing Kagachi by as well since neither of them have made a sound. Good choice, guys.
Kagachi will be able to duck into cell 5 once it turns the corner again, and he will see it turn left, into the hallway that is on the map's far right (containing the medical cell and cell 6 doors.)
He is now in another cell with a neatly made bed, though the chair here is just out in the middle of the floor.]
[ good news: the heart they need might be here. bad news: so's that thing, and they're playing hide and seek with it. he hasn't heard any screams so he can assume tamamo and kagachi are alright, and so after another sweep of the cell to make sure nothing else stands out, he ducks out, going back through the middle hallway up to the center to get to cell 4, keeping watch in case the monster is hanging around.
also he takes the note yoink more paper to be found on his corpse ]
Who says only cats have nine lives? She grins like a feral mess when the creature disappears, and after waiting a couple of beats, she will then take her piece of paper and dart into cell 3, if it's open.]
[Dick does not run into the monster! Nice. He enters cell 4 to find the same layout: bed (messy), chair (in a corner), none blood.
Cell 3 had its door hanging open already, so Tamamo is able to make her way in! The bed is neatly made, and there is no chair or blood in here.
Kagachi will find nothing on or under the chair, and his chronic bed-messing turns up no results. In the dim lighting, it's hard to get a good look at the ceiling, but the floor and walls don't have anything that stands out at a glance.]
[ alright, time to start with the bed because it's pre-messy!!! he's taking off the covers, looking under the pillow, looking under the bed itself and even checking under the mattress. please have a convenient key card somewhere? ]
[hey bed, nice to see you, time to ruffle you up until you share all of your secrets.
Though given there is no chair here, Tamamo immediately starts looking at the walls, floors, and ceiling, too, hoping for a similar paper to her last one.]
[There's nothing under the covers or pillow on Dick's bed, nor under the mattress, but on checking the floor beneath the bed he's rewarded with another page!]
“I heard screaming from the other end of the dungeon— I don’t know what happened, but it… I hope it’s occupied for a minute or two, at least.
I guess he bought us time. I should move. We still don’t have the keys we need.”
[They definitely haven't heard that thing since it went into the other hall. Hm. Maybe they're still safe, for now.
Tamamo won't find anything out of place on the walls, floors, or ceiling in her cell.
Kagachi, on standing on the chair, will find a ceiling tile is slightly out of place; it can be moved to reach up in there.]
[ damn it. there probably isn't anything else here if this is the note he found, but dick tucks in the note and quickly goes over to the chair, looking under, over and under it. he gives a sweep of the floor and ceiling also while he's at it.
if he finds nothing, he'll step out of the cell to look through the hallways and see if there's anything there ]
[Whelp in that case Tamamo is going to have to pray this bed comes through for her. She's going to be looking under sheets if there are any, and underneath the bed as well, trying to cover every inch of it in search of something useful]
[Dick's sweep turns up... nothing, congrats. The hallway he is currently in is clear!
Tamamo will not find anything in the bed... the sheets are clear, the floor under the bed is clear.
Kagachi, meanwhile, will feel two things inside the ceiling cavity. The first item is an orange keycard; the second is a mangled and bloodstained journal.]
[ dick goes to check into cell 5, since it's right where he is-- but pauses when he sees kagachi on top of a chair in the middle of it. it looks like he's not the only one who ran into trouble with his original assignment.
he's got something in his hands so dick is wasting his turn to catch up and see what kagachi got!! ]
[OKAY LAST THING SHE WILL CHECK is underneath the mattress but after that she's going to have to consider this a wash (bc her player is stupid) and will go fleeing out into the hall.
Though if she does find something she will at least pause to give it a look over. Sorry boys, she'll join you soon.]

-- Okay. Okay. She knows it hears well and its eyesight is negligible. Throwing anything while she's in the room will just invite it closer.
And she somehow doubts she's going to be able to take it in a fight. These tails of hers are just for show now, they have no divinity in them.
