Kagachi, meanwhile, will feel two things inside the ceiling cavity. The first item is an orange keycard; the second is a mangled and bloodstained journal.]
[ dick goes to check into cell 5, since it's right where he is-- but pauses when he sees kagachi on top of a chair in the middle of it. it looks like he's not the only one who ran into trouble with his original assignment.
he's got something in his hands so dick is wasting his turn to catch up and see what kagachi got!! ]
[OKAY LAST THING SHE WILL CHECK is underneath the mattress but after that she's going to have to consider this a wash (bc her player is stupid) and will go fleeing out into the hall.
Though if she does find something she will at least pause to give it a look over. Sorry boys, she'll join you soon.]
Once opened, the journal is... largely illegible. It's mangled, aged, and stained with old blood, and most of the pages have been ripped out. The inside cover says this once belonged to a 'Ryan F-', where the rest of the surname is unreadable.
There is one thing left in this journal that can still be read, though. At the back, spread over 2 pages in dark, flaky red, is:]

dick follows him out because he might as well see if tamamo's done her cells, and also because cool, now he has a sad journal from ryan f- who died. press f for ryan.
which means they're all together in the middle hallway for a little, and so dick will show his findings, especially the note about the heart being in the medical room, and writes, quickly, one that says "NEED CODE FOR SECURITY ROOM, 6 DIGITS". ]
[She's relieved to see the two of them are alive, though she's also glancing up and down the halls all the while, her fox ears swiveling about to catch any noise. In the meantime she will hand Dick the journal page she found so that he and Kagachi can take a look at the hints.

he shows his pages, before he gestures in the direction of the medical cell with his keycard. time to go, guys. but, you know, watch out for the monster.
and to that end, he'll actually hand the card over to tamamo—the fact that he grips his scythe tighter with his other hand should indicate why. if they do run into the creature, she'll have to look into the medical office while he distracts it. dick will have to do. something of his choice.

[As he starts heading down that hallway, he'll hear a noise in the distance, as will the others if they join him. It sounds like there might be something in the right hand hallway...
But he'll have to be closer to try to determine if so, and in which direction. It's echoing a bit.]
[ dick hesitates once he gets the page with the hint, but he can't figure it out quite yet, and there's no telling if the door will lock if he inputs too many random numbers. so he follows along with kagachi and tamamo, sticking to the back of the line as he thinks, keeping an eye out for anything behind them. he's clutching something in his hand, ready to throw for

Anyway once they reach the junction where the righthand hallway and the central, horizontal hallway meet, she will listen first. If she doesn't hear a creature ready to barrel down her throat, she'll peek around? Is that righthand corner hallway clear?]
They just can't tell which corner the creature might have turned around, north or south. There's not currently a good way to gauge where it is; it's gotten quieter, possibly in an effort to seek its prey.]

[YEP TIME TO QUICKLY AND QUIETLY MAKE IT FOR THAT MEDICAL DOOR. Tamamo is going to be following closely behind Kagachi but the moment she sees the card reader, she is going to slip in the orange keycard and pray it does not make a sound.
As Tamamo slips the orange keycard into the reader, the door opens blessedly silently.
Inside the Medical Cell, the overhead light flickers more unsteadily, and there seems to be a faint, weak snarling from deeper within... just quiet enough not to be audible from outside.
The lights go out. On the left hand side, a light flickers briefly on again; there is a medical table with streaks of old blood. The light goes out, then flickers on again, along with one on the right hand side which illuminates a table coated in black goo.
Both lights die. The snarling continues. It sounds... a little familiar? Not similar to the creature outside, though.
[ that snarling... dick's eyes narrow. hopefully they both get the same idea he does, since they don't have time to pass on the message, and so dick goes into his pockets-- he hands one of them a lighter (whoever wants it.) and takes out the flashlight for himself. he'll step inside, lighting the floor as he goes towards the table with the black goo, looking around to the best of his ability in the darkness. ]

Yeah, she is familiar with the sound. And that won't stop her from entering when the stakes are this high. Dick is already going for the table with the black goo, and hoping that his flashlight will give enough light to keep the room... not pitch black, she will slide over to the left hand side and try to examine the medical table from top to bottom.
It's probably too dark to really see but she'll still try to look on top and under, just in case.

[kagachi will take the lighter with his free hand, keeping it on with whatever little light it brings, while maintaining his other grip tight around his scythe. since dick and tamamo are investigating, he remains alert to deal with any threat.]

Its fangs and many teeth glow much more faintly than the ones they've seen, and it struggles weakly as it sees them, but it's unable to break its bonds; there's a scalpel lodged in its chest, and something else glinting in the same area of its body.
Now that it's sure they're there, though? The snarling gets a little louder.]
[ COOL THANKS DRAMATIC LIGHTING. is there anything near the goo table at all? dick's going to look around/on/under it to make sure before gesturing at the other two and making a heart with his hands before pointing at the demon and putting a finger to his mouth before gesturing shrugging all ????
how the fuck how are they going to do it quietly. now that dick's wasted time miming though he writes a quick message on a note-- ive only now realized he has to do it in japanese so thank god he's like that:
"if the key for the other door isn't here, it's in the security office. necessary for exit?"
Because the doors don't unlock unless you've done everything needed in a room from dick's experience, which means... they need to be ready to run if they can't figure out how to get the heart out of here quietly. He goes over the clues in his head again, and I'm giving him until next turn for my theory so I can see whats around this room 😒 ]
[Tamamo likewise is going to give the bloody table one last look over, the top and under it, before she goes to join the others, JUST IN CASE. Gotta make sure they don't miss an important clue before they open a goddamn demon on the table.
And her mouth thins at what Dick writes down but y'know, given what she knows of bullshit quests, that sounds about right. She'll nod to indicate she understands what he means and then gestures to the demon. She's not really one to wait and honestly she doubts they can keep the demon quiet unless one of them has something to shove into its mouth... Is there some kind of sheet around they can use as a gag?
Which, y'know, if anyone wants to get near those teeth]
it's why he steps back and hangs around the entrance, so that he can keep an eye on what's going on inside but maintain a lookout outside as well. it would probably be very bad if they were all trapped in this cell when the creature comes to hunt them down?]

As Tamamo slips the orange keycard into the reader, the door opens blessedly silently.
