[Catra goes in!

But you know, Cat-like. Quiet feet.]

Aha! At last! You know, I did not know if I expected that to work!

[She's triumphant, and follows Catra inside. A little less quietly than she is, though not trying to make a ton of noise either.]

I'm surprised it did, when we can't get through the other windows or doors.

[ but he'll follow after edelgard, hand on the hilt of his sword in case they need to fight. he's not as quiet as catra, but he moves slowly in the darkness. ]

Should we use the shells for light? Like we did before, in the break room.

[Congrats, team! They definitely deserve to share a glorious high-five.

The only problem is... As they step into the room, something will crack behind them. They will only have a second to realize that door has magically repaired itself before it's slamming shut, the lock clicking a moment later. Without any source of light, they are now completely submerged in darkness.

So, what now?]

Well.

I guess we’re all going to die here.

[she doesn’t sound that concerned.]

[Taking out her clamshell to get a little light?]

You shouldn't give up so easily.

[well Catra can see in the dark so... what will she see?]

[With the little illumination provided by the clamshells, the group will be able to see what's immediately surrounding them. To their left, they will see what appears to be... a receptionist's counter? Yes, equipped with a comfy desk chair behind it. The floor, they will note, is pure white marble. Unfortunately for Catra, everything beyond two to three feet before her will be blurry and indistinguishable — almost as if the whole room was covered in a heavy mist.

If they want to get a better view of their surroundings, though, they should search for a better source of light...]

[Well, she'll go over to the receptionist's counter and feel around, using the clamshell for a little light, and see if she can locate a lamp? Or anything else interesting in the dark?]

[ meanwhile kanesan remembers that light switchesexist and will check the walls for any! if he finds one, he's turning it on. ]

[Well not being able to see is...annoying? And weird? She's not going to say anything but she'll grit her teeth.

Prowling over to the desk, she'll try to see if there are any drawers to open.]

[As Kanesan feels along the wall, he will eventually come across what feels like a panel with two switches on it. One on the left, and one on the right.

The clamshells aren't the idea sort of lightsource, and while Edelgard will be able to see enough of the desk to find an assortment of trinkets, there will be no lamp. She's good to go as far as paper clips, sticky notes, pens and paperweights go, though. There's even a nice ceramic mug with a lovely heart pattern sitting on the receptionist's side of the counter? Nice.

When Catra prowls over to the counter, she will note there's one (1) lonely drawer on the side.]

[Hmm! Well, she’s going to shove those sticky notes and pens in the mug and hang on to them for later.]

This is someone’s office, I think.

It looks that way.

[ what happens if he flips the left switch? ]

You'd think if it was someone important, they'd have a little more security. Or maybe they're just self-important.

[Catra drops down to check under the desk for... a secret button or something. She'll even resort to using her clamshell (embarrassing) if she has to.

Is it really just a desk of some middle manager?]

[You do you, Edelgard. Steal the shit out of those pens and notes. They're Adrestian property now.

When Catra drops down to check under the counter, even with the help of her clamshell... She'll find there's nothing! It really is the desk of some run of the mill receptionist. Sad.

Kanesan, however, will get better results as he flips the left switch. Congratulations, you found the light switch! Or, uh... One of them, anyway. The half of the room that's closest to the door will light up, allowing them to realize that they have found their way into what appears to be a Beauty Salon. Though they won't be able to see shit past a certain point, there's enough light for them to notice a couple of things:

- The receptionist's counter is, indeed, just a normal (if not extremely fancy) counter.
- There's a waiting area directly to their right, equipped with several comfy looking chairs.
- Beyond that... Towards the left side of the room, they will see three styling islands, but not much else.
- Towards the right side of the room, they will see three make-up islands, but not much else.
- They absolutely cannot see the other side of the room, as it's completely shrouded in darkness despite the fact that light just does not work that way. Freaky.

And like the rest of the ship, what little they can see of the Beauty Salon is extremely opulent... Nice.]

Well done. It seems it is simply another useless room. Though there may be something else waiting for us in the darkness.

[Edelgard will herself go to inspect the styling islands, poking through to see if anything is out of the ordinary.]

There must be something, if we were locked out of it.

[ hm. kanesan flips the right switch as well before heading further into the room himself. catra has the desk covered, probably, so assuming that switch lights the rest of the room, he'll venture toward the other side and see if there's anything interesting at first glance. ]

Maybe it's just a bunch of fancy makeup that someone's way too attached to and they're scared we're gonna use it inappropriately.

[Says someone who absolutely would. She goes through the desk in the light, trying to see if she finds anything. If not, she'll approach the edge of the darkness.]

[Once Kanesan flips the right switch, the remaining half of the room will light up. Beyond the makeup and styling islands, they will find:

- On the right side of the room: Two manicure islands, and what appears to be an enclosed pedicure station.
- On the left side of the room: Three dryers, and two shampoo stations.
- As Kanesan approaches the other side of the room, he will see that there are three doors on the back of the room. From left to right, they are labeled: TREATMENT 1, TREATMENT 2, DISPENSARY.

If Edelgard is only checking out the tables at the styling islands, she will find that they are properly equipped with anything one would ever need to keep their hair looking healthy and great. This includes, but is not limited to: Products, scissors, razors, clippers, oils, and much more.

Looking through the desk in the light, Catra will find that the results are the same. There are a number of things on top of the desk, as well as that one single unopened drawer.]

[Making a pleased noise when she comes across the product! Stealing some shampoo and conditioner! On second thought, also stealing a razor.

Anyway, she’s going to approach Kanesan, giving the makeup tables and mani/pedi stations a glance over to make sure there’s nothing out of the ordinary but not really stopping. Once she gets to the doors, she frowns.]

Is it me, or are these doors rather strange for a beauty salon? [They could be private rooms for beauty treatments and storage, but...it’s a little odd.]

Shall we try them?

[ kanesan only spares the manicure and pedicure stations a quick glance before continuing to the doors, frowning. ]

I wouldn't know. I've never seen a beauty salon.

[ but if all this stuff is meant to make you look good... kashuu and hachisuka would probably love it. he'll have to tell them, when he sees them again.

and to edelgard, he'll nod. ]

I'll try the first one.

[ hand on his sword, kanesan approaches the one labeled "Treatment 1" to try and open it. ]

[Catra on the other hand, will open the door on the desk if she can and then stay back as she watches the others open the door.

She’s curious, but she’s not going to risk her own tail if they’re going to put themselves into danger.]

[When Catra opens the drawer, she will find a notepad inside. Something seems to be written on it, but she'll have to take a closer look if she wants to read.

Giving a quick glance to the other stations reveals nothing. If they want to find anything, they'll have to take a closer look... But that can wait for later because, as it turns out, Treatment 1 is open! The knob will turn without much trouble, allowing Kanesan and Edelgard to see what appears to be a massage therapy room. There's a shelf and counter on the other side of the room, clearly equipped with everything one would need deliver a massage. There is also a bed in the middle of the room, with a white linen sheet on top of it.

... Or, rather, on top of whatever is laying on the bed. From where they stand, it looks suspiciously human shaped.
