[Annoyed, but there’s not that much heat behind it. Trying the third door, then.]

[ also annoyed, but trying to ignore it. there's a bigger issue, so he remains at the second door while the commander moves on, and turns to catra. ]

You seem to think you can open any door. Think you can find a way in?

[ there may be a little bit of challenge in his voice. ]

I didn't say I could open any door. Just that any door that locks has to be open somehow.

[Still, she approaches and sticks her claws in, using them like a lockpick to try and jimmy the handle open.]

[Haha.

Well.

Catra can use her claws to try and jimmy the handle open, but the moment she does that? She will feel something prick her fingertip, almost as if she had touched something sharp. This seems... fine. Alarming, but fine. The real problem will be when, after a moment passes, a burning sensation begins to spread through her hand. There's no smoke coming from the the door, and her flesh itself will be fine, but it will feel like she's stuck her hand in a pot of boiling water for as long as she continues to mess with the door.

This will only go away if she decides to stop.

Simultaneously, all three of them will get the feeling that there's more to do in this room before they can unlock that door.

Luckily for the group, Edelgard will have a little more luck with the third door. As the name implies, this is a room dedicated to storing supplies, all of them neatly organized onto shelves along the left wall. To her front, Edelgard will find shelves dedicated specifically to hair color supplies. To her right, there will be a counter equipped with everyone one might need to mix and prepare hair dyes.

Shall she take a closer look?]

What is this?

[Catra snarls and pulls her hand away. She inspects it looking for wounds but there are none. Still, the sensation of being takes awhile to fade away, just like a real burn.

She hisses and clenches and unclenches her fist until the pain fades.]

Someone really doesn't want us going in there.

[She will take a closer look, poking through the shelves and bottles to see if there’s anything interesting. She doesn’t really understand what the bottles are for, so she’ll try mixing anything left out on the table (or if there’s nothing, some of the dyes from the shelves.]

What’s going on out there? Trouble?

I have a hunch there’s something here we’re meant to find. Keep looking.

The door still won't open. There must be something else we need to do first.

[ but if there's no trouble from the third room... kanesan will go rifle around the mani/pedi stations. maybe there's something useful hidden among the supplies there. ]

Is there anything in that room?

No trouble. Just an unexplained burning sensation that should happen when you try to open the door.

[Catra slinks off to go reinspect the notepad in the desk because I forgot about that!!!]

[Nothing interesting amongst the shelves and bottles. However, as Edelgard goes to check the table, she will find a sticky note with something scribbled on it. She'll have to take a closer look to see what it says.

The manicure and pedicure stations are separate from one another. Kanesan can start with the manicure stations, if he'd like. It is there that he will find everything a person could need to paint their nails, get acrylic nails, and so forth. There's even a dummy hand on one of the tables, for anyone to practice their manicure skills. The ring finger, oddly enough, seems to be a little higher than the others.

While searching the manicure station, however, Kanesan will also notice that a folded up piece of paper has been pinned under a bottle of pink nail polish.

As for Catra, when she returns to read the notepad, she will find there's a list written on it. It reads:]

H. - SHAMPOO
A. - MANICURE
C. - DISPENSARY
M. - MAKE-UP
YOU - TREATMENT 2

[She does! She does take a closer look.]

Tell me if there’s anything interesting!

[ he's going to retrieve it from under the nail polish to see if it says anything! ]

Some idiot wrote a code on this one.

[She picks up the notepad and drops it on the table.]

Who has time for that? Seriously?

[When Edelgard takes a closer look at the handwritten note, she will find that it says the following:]

Stop drinking...
I worry about you.

[As Kanesan unfolds the piece of paper, he will find that it's a handwritten note. It says:]

Fiancé

We have time for it.

[Taking her note back, and going over to look at the notepad Catra dropped.]

This would seem to be the dispensary note. Stop drinking...I worry about you, corresponding with the letter C. We must have missed notes among the makeup and shampoo.

Then I'll check the makeup.

[ he'll keep the manicure note in hand and head for the makeup islands to look for one over there. ]

Once we have them all, we can figure out the code from there.

I guess that leaves me to check the shampoo.

Why can't anyone just be straightforward about these things? Code, really?

[GRUMBLE. But she's checking anyway.]

[As Kanesan approaches the make-up islands, he will see that they are fully equipped with all the products and tools a make-up artist could ever dream of. The mirrors are large and crystal clear, with LED lights framing them. There is a chair in front of each table, black and visibly comfortable. However, the longer Kanesan stares at the make-up island... the more he gets the feeling that something is off. Where will he check first?

Catra, on the other hand, will find that there are three backwash units. One to the left, one in the middle, and one to the right. Where is she looking first?]

[Well, she'll make herself useful by going over to where Catra is looking, and will check the left backwash unit to see if she can find any type of note.]

[namelessfighter]

[ he'll look around the products and tools first! maybe the note they need is tucked under one of those again. ]

[Catra will take the right backwash unit to see if she can find anything.]

Kanesan can look around the products and tools, but there isn't anything out of the ordinary there.

When Edelgard checks the left backwash, she will find a pair of rusty professional shears. The blades are coated with some sort of... black gunk. Pleasant! Catra, on the other hand, will notice that something has been etched on the bottom of the right backwash sink. Will she take a closer look?]

[Inspecting the nasty black gunk? What consistency is it? Does it have a smell?

That being done, she'll check the middle sink.]

[ hm, alright. then he'll check out the mirrors! maybe there's a switch to turn on the LEDs, or a note stuck in the mirror...? ]

[GOTTA READ THAT NOTE.]

[Edelgard will find that the black gunk is tacky in consistency. When she brings the scissors up to her face to take a whiff, she will realize that the gunk smells exactly like blood.

There's no note written on the mirrors, no. But as Kanesan examines them, he will realize that... there's something on one of them. Sheer gloss, to be precise, forming what appears to be letters.

It's not quite a note, but upon further inspection, Catra will realize that someone left a message by literally scraping the words into the sink. It is a jagged, ugly thing, but it's also perfectly legible.

It says:]
