Maybe it's just a bunch of fancy makeup that someone's way too attached to and they're scared we're gonna use it inappropriately.

[Says someone who absolutely would. She goes through the desk in the light, trying to see if she finds anything. If not, she'll approach the edge of the darkness.]

[Once Kanesan flips the right switch, the remaining half of the room will light up. Beyond the makeup and styling islands, they will find:

- On the right side of the room: Two manicure islands, and what appears to be an enclosed pedicure station.
- On the left side of the room: Three dryers, and two shampoo stations.
- As Kanesan approaches the other side of the room, he will see that there are three doors on the back of the room. From left to right, they are labeled: TREATMENT 1, TREATMENT 2, DISPENSARY.

If Edelgard is only checking out the tables at the styling islands, she will find that they are properly equipped with anything one would ever need to keep their hair looking healthy and great. This includes, but is not limited to: Products, scissors, razors, clippers, oils, and much more.

Looking through the desk in the light, Catra will find that the results are the same. There are a number of things on top of the desk, as well as that one single unopened drawer.]

[Making a pleased noise when she comes across the product! Stealing some shampoo and conditioner! On second thought, also stealing a razor.

Anyway, she’s going to approach Kanesan, giving the makeup tables and mani/pedi stations a glance over to make sure there’s nothing out of the ordinary but not really stopping. Once she gets to the doors, she frowns.]

Is it me, or are these doors rather strange for a beauty salon? [They could be private rooms for beauty treatments and storage, but...it’s a little odd.]

Shall we try them?

[ kanesan only spares the manicure and pedicure stations a quick glance before continuing to the doors, frowning. ]

I wouldn't know. I've never seen a beauty salon.

[ but if all this stuff is meant to make you look good... kashuu and hachisuka would probably love it. he'll have to tell them, when he sees them again.

and to edelgard, he'll nod. ]

[ hand on his sword, kanesan approaches the one labeled "Treatment 1" to try and open it. ]

[Catra on the other hand, will open the door on the desk if she can and then stay back as she watches the others open the door.

She’s curious, but she’s not going to risk her own tail if they’re going to put themselves into danger.]

[When Catra opens the drawer, she will find a notepad inside. Something seems to be written on it, but she'll have to take a closer look if she wants to read.

Giving a quick glance to the other stations reveals nothing. If they want to find anything, they'll have to take a closer look... But that can wait for later because, as it turns out, Treatment 1 is open! The knob will turn without much trouble, allowing Kanesan and Edelgard to see what appears to be a massage therapy room. There's a shelf and counter on the other side of the room, clearly equipped with everything one would need deliver a massage. There is also a bed in the middle of the room, with a white linen sheet on top of it.

... Or, rather, on top of whatever is laying on the bed. From where they stand, it looks suspiciously human shaped.

Hm.]

Is - is someone there? Show yourself!

[Hm indeed! This is worrying, especially knowing how badly last week’s exploration went for all involved.

She’ll stride confidently into the room, keeping one hand on her axe, and try to pull away the sheet to see what’s underneath.]

[ he's keeping his hand on his sword, grip tightening as he follows edelgard into the room and waiting to see what's underneath when she pulls the sheet away. is a person, alive or dead? a mannequin of some sort? whatever it is, he's ready to fight if it attacks. ]

Storing bodies in a beauty salon? Gotta say, I didn't see that one coming.

[Catra has her claws of course but that means having to engage in close combat which she'd like to avoid. So while her voice is casual, she tenses, prepping herself for either an attack or quick escape, depending on how it responds.

[Well, now she feels silly!! Huffing, tossing the sheet to the floor, and storming out of the floor t go open Treatment Door #2]

[ hm.

kanesan stays just long enough to ensure that there's nothing remarkable about the mannequin, but then he's following edelgard to the next room. let's see what's behind door number two! ]

Oh man! You should have seen the look on your face!

[Nothing remarkable about the mannequin, no! It's just chilling in the massage bed, naked.

They can try the door to the second treatment room, but it won't open. It looks like it's locked.]

I’m glad you were entertained.

[Annoyed, but there’s not that much heat behind it. Trying the third door, then.]

[ also annoyed, but trying to ignore it. there's a bigger issue, so he remains at the second door while the commander moves on, and turns to catra. ]

You seem to think you can open any door. Think you can find a way in?

[ there may be a little bit of challenge in his voice. ]

I didn't say I could open any door. Just that any door that locks has to be open somehow.

[Still, she approaches and sticks her claws in, using them like a lockpick to try and jimmy the handle open.]

[Haha.

Well.

Catra can use her claws to try and jimmy the handle open, but the moment she does that? She will feel something prick her fingertip, almost as if she had touched something sharp. This seems... fine. Alarming, but fine. The real problem will be when, after a moment passes, a burning sensation begins to spread through her hand. There's no smoke coming from the the door, and her flesh itself will be fine, but it will feel like she's stuck her hand in a pot of boiling water for as long as she continues to mess with the door.

This will only go away if she decides to stop.

Simultaneously, all three of them will get the feeling that there's more to do in this room before they can unlock that door.

Luckily for the group, Edelgard will have a little more luck with the third door. As the name implies, this is a room dedicated to storing supplies, all of them neatly organized onto shelves along the left wall. To her front, Edelgard will find shelves dedicated specifically to hair color supplies. To her right, there will be a counter equipped with everyone one might need to mix and prepare hair dyes.

Shall she take a closer look?]

What is this?

[Catra snarls and pulls her hand away. She inspects it looking for wounds but there are none. Still, the sensation of being takes awhile to fade away, just like a real burn.

She hisses and clenches and unclenches her fist until the pain fades.]

Someone really doesn't want us going in there.

[She will take a closer look, poking through the shelves and bottles to see if there’s anything interesting. She doesn’t really understand what the bottles are for, so she’ll try mixing anything left out on the table (or if there’s nothing, some of the dyes from the shelves.]

What’s going on out there? Trouble?

I have a hunch there’s something here we’re meant to find. Keep looking.

The door still won't open. There must be something else we need to do first.

[ but if there's no trouble from the third room... kanesan will go rifle around the mani/pedi stations. maybe there's something useful hidden among the supplies there. ]

Is there anything in that room?

No trouble. Just an unexplained burning sensation that should happen when you try to open the door.

[Catra slinks off to go reinspect the notepad in the desk because I forgot about that!!!]

[Nothing interesting amongst the shelves and bottles. However, as Edelgard goes to check the table, she will find a sticky note with something scribbled on it. She'll have to take a closer look to see what it says.

The manicure and pedicure stations are separate from one another. Kanesan can start with the manicure stations, if he'd like. It is there that he will find everything a person could need to paint their nails, get acrylic nails, and so forth. There's even a dummy hand on one of the tables, for anyone to practice their manicure skills. The ring finger, oddly enough, seems to be a little higher than the others.

While searching the manicure station, however, Kanesan will also notice that a folded up piece of paper has been pinned under a bottle of pink nail polish.

As for Catra, when she returns to read the notepad, she will find there's a list written on it. It reads:]

A. - MANICURE
C. - DISPENSARY
M. - MAKE-UP
YOU - TREATMENT 2

[Hm.]

[She does! She does take a closer look.]
