At the beginning of the very first investigation, all characters will gain access to a new application on their clamshell device. Simply titled Rulebook, the application will open to a document that cannot be edited in any way or form. Though some of the content is, initially, heavily corrupted — it displays several lines of text that will guide the group during their time in the hotel.
The contents of the app are as follows:
1. Our Truth is here. 2. We have taken what is rightfully ours. 3. You have been granted two hours to sweep the perimeter and see our glory. 4. You must make your final choice tomorrow. All other activities will cease from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Attendance is mandatory. However, if the majority desires it, this time may be cut short. 5. Voting is optional. Select one of your own to use as a catalyst. 6. The instructions are simple: Arrange the seven items around the circle, place the one you have selected in the middle of the circle, and spill their blood. Only the blood of one who does not host our souls will open the gates that will allow all 33 to return home, safe and sound. 7. You are alone. Their services are no longer needed. If you wish to see them again, do as you have been told.
