I held her hand for what seemed like ages. I couldn't bring myself to let go. Couldn't bring myself to believe that someone had done this to April. Why did it have to be her? Why couldn't it be me? I spoke to her last night. Fell into her bed. She was such a kind person. I promised her we would go back to her world together, and now — all of my hard work was for naught. Where would I find another gullible dumbass to manipulate?

What a waste of my time.

Hao pulled me away.

We sat in the Cafeteria before they addressed us.

"Four of your own have been struck down," it said. "Tomorrow you will all gather in the Ballroom. Find the source of the distortion and repay the blood that has been spilt."

I did not sleep that night.

I was too furious at the turn of events.
