[sure this is fine - higekiri is at the door? did they plan to meet up here before? does he just make rounds around the hotel and knock on doors hoping to get inside?
well!! we're all here now so it doesn't matter!
he knocks on this door as well, saying a fairly familiar:]
Good evening, requesting entry - please grant us an audience.
[he's going to push his luck with this every single time]
[This squad is terrible. Anyway between Higekiri's polite knocking just not working and Kagachi getting out his scythe, he'll press his shoulder against the door to test it.]
Let's see, let's see... Seems pretty sturdy?
[SO NATURALLY he'll just take several steps back and
fullass shoulderslam into it with the weight of his twink body, which naturally does nothing but leave him yelping in pain.]
[because kagachi's going to eye the door and look for a place he can maybe cut with his scythe. he swings—and wow it also does nothing. he kind of expected that, but bummer.]
[DON'T FUCKIN LAUGH AT HIM!!! HE'S A DELICATE TWINK!! He's still rubbing his shoulder and wincing by the time he's gotta step back to let Kagachi take a whack at cracking this door open.
Cursed and still closed... A sigh! He eyes the door thoughtfully for a few seconds, finger tapping his chin.]
Mm... Well! Might as well exhaust all our options before we go to any extremes, right?
[Just how extreme is he expecting to have to get here...
But his hand just automatically drops to his side, pulling Chenqing from its usual spot at his waist. This is now a party of bards and Wei Wuxian is toot tooting on the demon flute, playing out a fast-paced, high-energy little tune.]
While their other efforts are for naught, there's a slight creaking from the door as Wei Wuxian begins to toot toot on his flute. It shakes a little... creaks a little more... wiggles a bit in its frame...
Higekiri just laughs a little bit, amused as he claps his hands in applause for WWX's beautiful show?? and then he's just going to place his hand on his sword before moving to enter the room. his other hand pulls out his clamshell so he can try to illuminate as best as he can?]
Okay! What a nice song...
Pardon the intrusion.
[he'll try to do what he saw beck do before? what if he shines the clamshell light against the wall by the door to try to see if he can find a lightswitch,]
[i'd say he made up for his foolass attempts at bodyslamming the door down but did he really...
IN ANY CASE he gives a little mock-bow at the applause, but doesn't put Chenqing back just yet, instead holding it in one hand while he copies Higekiri to fish out his clamshell for extra light.]
Hello, hello - we're coming in! [Said to... ghosts?? Demons?? Who knows. He also just moves to slide behind Kagachi at that, waving his flute around.]
I've got nothing on me, so I'll leave the offense in your hands. Take care of me kindly! [As he immediately fuckin starts to wander off to the other side of the door that Higekiri isn't checking to see if any lightswitch or anything of note is there.]
[The lights are very deep inside-- as Kagachi moves forward, he will get the sense that this is an enormous room. If he's not careful, he'll bump into something large and metallic; there are aisles between many of these large objects.
Meanwhile, Higekiri and Wei Wuxian will each find a switch! There's a set on the right side, which Higekiri can see by clamlight is labeled LIGHT.
Once both switches are flipped, the room practically explodes in light and sound, all at once. There are rainbow lights on the ceiling, chiptune music playing from every possible direction, and the volume is loud.
Kagachi probably gets the worst of it, having already stepped deeper into what they can now see is an enormous Arcade. The aisles are lined with all types of games, emitting flashing lights and various sound effects-- he's already passed by the crane games, but Higekiri and Wei Wuxian can get a look at those and the prizes inside.
Oh yeah, and the door slammed behind them when they all entered.]
higekiri doesn't even care that the door slammed behind them - he keeps one hand on the hilt of his sword just in case but he's absolutely just going to start peering? into all the crane games? his eyes are bright and his curiosity is ignited?]
Haha, I don't know what any of this is, but it looks fun.
[Well he's immediately shoving his clamshell back into his pocket so he has at least one free hand to go touch things with! Fortunately he isn't about to shove it into the claw machine, but he does go press against the glass to peer at all the prizes, too.
Barring anything particularly interesting or eye-catching, he's flitting off just a moment later?! He's drawn toward whatever's got the flashiest lights... What happened to not wandering away IT DIDN'T EVEN LAST ONE TAG.]
Wow! What is this place?! Where's that sound coming from? What's that—!
[Good thing he's so damn loud, so even his slightly-louder-than-regular talking voice can probably be heard over the chaos of noise in here.]
[It might not be enough to catch Wei Wuxian's eye, but there's a piece of paper inside one of the crane game machines. It's folded, so it cannot be read.
What might be more interesting is that there's an odd sound from that particular crane machine, coming only after he and Higekiri have already looked at it. Kagachi is probably too far ahead to hear it, but there's a thump that seems to come from within the depths of the game machine.
Meanwhile, Kagachi is getting a good look at the varied game options! There are some standards like Pac-Man and Galaga, DDR, a few military style shooters, a zombie shooter horror game, a section full of those games that are just meant for getting prize tickets, and a series of racing games complete with wheel controllers.]
[Higekiri stops, puts his hand on the hilt of his sword and approaches the crane machine that emitted the sound, like he's ready to just slice that motherfucker open.
He doesn't!! But he wants to.]
Did I hear something...? Wukiri, did you...?
[what if higekiri walks back up to that weirdass crane machine and
knocks against it once, then twice, like he's trying to communicate with whatever's inside]
[i guess the three stooges are coming back together, since he's abandoning his quest for the flashiest lights when Higekiri calls his... name...]
Hm? Hear what?
[Also, while he did totally miss that paper in his haze of arcade distraction the first time around, coming back to the machine gives him another chance to take a look.]
—Ah! Look - there. [Tapping the glass to gesture at the paper.]
[The paper is lying somewhere that it should be easy to grab with the crane! There's even a little hook attached. How handy.
As they gather, the knocking happens again. It happens behind them and to the sides, as well-- tiny thumping sounds from inside each machine. There's a faint rustling of something soft.
And, as they stare at the machine, something abruptly flings itself against the glass, right in Wei Wuxian's face. It clings to the glass, repeating a single word.
More shortly join it, throwing themselves at the glass. Around them, the noises get louder as the toys within each game animate, scrabbling at the glass with soft fabric hands. They want out. Let them out? L̶̨̬̫̳̻̗̬̘͎̮̊̀̈́͝E̶̯̲̞͙̋̈̌̑̇T̸̟͂̀͊͜ ̵̨͕̝͉̪̟̮̲̙͐͌̿̑̈͌̿̋̐̈́̂͊͘͝͠T̸̡͙̺̠̟͈͕̫̟̪̲͋̏́̆́͋̃̓́́̒͋͜͝H̶̘͈̘̻͉̯́̓͑̌̔́̅E̵̛̮̠̫͖̪̬̯̬̞̽̏̇̀́͒͌̀͗̎̅̚̕͜͝M̸̧̖̝̥͚̍̃̀͐́́̆͌̑̅̔̎̄̅̏ ̶̨̫̙̖̈́́́̚O̶̻̠͈̩̗̟͍̱̾͝Ů̴̠̟̫̜̯͖̝̬̰̊͒̿̅̎͌̓̂̋͒̕͜͝T̷͈̥͓̿̈̐̑͂͛̍̉̉̃̀̒͘͘-̸̦̬̠̞̤͈̼̪̅?̸̢̰̝͉̹̪͔̠͋͂͛̿͒̾͜͜
The toys in the crane game that contains the paper are jostling it a bit, but it's not yet lost.]
[The second that something hits the glass, Higekiri's sword is drawn.
And then he sort of just - watches? He watches, because he's not sure what to do in this situation. That sure is a bunch of possessed dolls? for some reason that shocks him a little bit less than expected because of standard horror fare but - ]
Shall I retrieve the paper?
[he lifts his sword like he will absolutely just fucking slice the crane game open and then cut every single toy

It's dark inside, save for a few small, dim lights deep into the room. That's all they can see from the doorway.
Enter?]

[kagachi is evidently not suited to this because what the fuck was that bullshit.
anyway, he'll also enter, though he glances back at wei wuxian.]
Are you armed? If not, stay close to one of us. [a beat.] Though not too close.
[and with that, he cautiously starts heading towards the lights.]

Higekiri blinks, and only just barely manages to remember to warn - ]
Mind your eyes - it may get bright.
[FLIPS THAT SWITCH]
no subject
[just in case the lights don't work, kagachi will also get out his clamshell for light.
either way, he'll feel his way around and try to walk through the aisles.]
no subject
[He absolutely will, but at least for now he's over here by this switch!]
Ah, this one says sound?
[Less vital than turning on the lights, probably, but he's gonna flip that switch anyway because he's a curious fool.]

Once both switches are flipped, the room practically explodes in light and sound, all at once. There are rainbow lights on the ceiling, chiptune music playing from every possible direction, and the volume is loud.
