Soooo he wasn’t displeased when he found out that they’d be working together while they were on the ship! He was much happier to work with Chuuya than Nathan, and he absolutely didn’t mind the requirement of sleeping with him to get any extra information he might want. Chuuya’s not bad looking? And he’s perfectly wakizashi sized? As far as Kanesan was concerned, this was a great working relationship.
Though uh. He said this on the last cr chart, I think? But he did kind of look at Chuuya as his stand-in master, since he was getting missions from him in the absence of the saniwa. And frankly, he didn’t mind that, either? Chuuya very obviously cared about the people working under him, and saw them as more than just tools, and that’s the kind of master a sword really cherishes, you know? So Kanesan really wanted to do a good job for him, especially if it meant getting them all home safely.
So… yeah! He was really upset with himself on that end when he died! From his perspective, Kanesan had failed his newest master and the rest of the people here by not being able to actively help any longer, and failed as a sword for falling in battle, even if that just… happens sometimes, even to the best warriors. But he never planned on giving up, so. He kept visiting Chuuya (he kind of missed having an excuse to see him whenever he wanted?) and trying to pass on information from the graveyard, and. welp.
He was pretty sure from the start that Chuuya wouldn’t take the news about the dead’s fates well? But since it would affect him too, Kanesan had to at least try and get his opinion on the matter. Obviously that didn’t work as planned, and it probably just left them both frustrated, and wow, did Kanesan really hate it when Chuuya turned up dead again. That sucked!!
And it sucked even more when he came to the graveyard, without any say in the matter and apparently no way of getting out!! He was in the right to be furious; Kanesan couldn’t fault him for it, even if he was of the opinion that staying behind was better for the time being when Chuuya very much did not agree. It’s fine? It’s not like either of them ever planned on staying on the island and waiting to become demons. Absolutely not! It became even more important to find a way out when he discovered that Chuuya would be with them, honestly, even if he was a little happy to have his newest master nearby. Now he’s just determined to get Chuuya back to his world and his people where he belongs, and to just… fix this, somehow. If it means destroying the whole island… well, that’s fine. They don’t have much more to lose, do they? So yeah. Kanesan thinks fucking up the island is a great idea - because even if it doesn’t get Chuuya and the others home, at least they’ll have tried.
