i'm not late i'm just being fashionable. y late.

SO. TAMAMO. Shiraishi found Tamamo hilarious, in her own way. Whether she was a goddess or not didn't matter to him, until he saw her memories later on, she was funny and interesting. Very pushy and hilariously upfront about what she wanted even though it was something that seemed so pointless and unnecessary to him.

But she was smart, and shared similar views to him -- the whole attitude of not taking a soft approach when it came to getting answers, and not letting sentimentality or fondness get in the way of doing the logical thing. Not that he gave a crap what people said about him, but it was pleasant to hear his views weren't completely alone when it was pretty damn important to stay alive.

And then they had a bunch of post-trial drinking and talking sessions and -- surprise! He did actually like her, in his Shiraishi manner. He did actually enjoy their chats and the cocktail making sessions, and he is going to miss her while she's off being alive and free and he's slowing turning into a demon.

SAME HAT. ish.

god. illumi. was so wild. and strange. amazing to watch, shiraishi definitely enjoyed that -- and honestly he found it so funny when illumi asked him about introductory self defence lessons and then just dismissed him when he declined.

It was one of those "people just don't ask the right questions" moment, which he found very funny, frequently, from a lot of people. And also a shame, because when he was open with him in the gy it would have been enlightening to have had that sort of shared experiences to discuss during the course of the game. Either to the detriment of his character development, or improving it -- who knows!

He's still unsure whether or not Illumi did give Kanechansan the most cryptid blowjob ever, because honest-to-god he would 100% believe that Illumi would do that, possessed or not. 😔

looks at nails and leaves

ok no. where to begin.

honestly shiraishi gives like. no shits about first impressions, and aizawa just happened to stumble across him at a point he was already getting a little annoyed with all the ... bold claims? people were making. human swords, goddesses, some dude who things he has super powers.... but aizawa was really easy to tease and that was fun. He just kinda. Left himself open to it, and reacted hilariously and make it more fun to keep teasing him.

and then in the week aizawa died that all got a bit complicated. it's not like he knew he was possessed, but they did interact more and then he kissed him to carry on one of those teases. whoops. it wasn't really a kick in the teeth that aizawa was possessed, he was kinda squaring himself up for that happening with anyone -- but there was more of an issue with the fact he was relearning that he couldn't just cut off emotions and people from his memory here either, and that shook him up enough when he was at home let alone here.

he probably couldn't say that he's. like. desperately in love or anything -- that'd be sorely premature and silly to say, and he has enough things to work through himself before it all goes out the window and they become demons. but he's fond and he knows the signs of people being important to him now. he is, at least, not opposed to the idea of something with aizawa, whatever it ends up being. hopefully they'll have like... years before becoming demons, rather than weeks so he can sort through that and get to wherever they'll end up before it all potentially gets reset.

binch do your tl;cr.

also. like. god what a binch. Shiraishi wouldn't have minded Kanesada too much but he just couldn't deal with the nosiness and the refusal to get that sometimes people have no interest in sharing their personal lives.

Aside from that he could see a lot of positives in Kanesada? Or like... socially acceptable positives. The determination, the strength and the bravery but... it was just everythig else? Terrible. Shiraishi has no problem with keeping his secrets or telling people when to step off, but it was just that holier-than-thou attitude that secret sharing was the Right Thing To Do and that he was entitled to knowing people's motivations and secrets because it was what he thought was best.

It was kinda funny at first and then it just annoyed him. I hope they never get along, because honestly their hostility (and the low-key acknowledgement that they're both very attractive people, yo) is hilarious and I hope they get to literally fight each other at some point.

jumpy.

jumpyjumpyjumpy.

Junpei reminded Shiraishi a little bit of Yanagi, tbh. If Yanagi swallowed a bitter pill at some point. The whole 'jaded law enforcement' thing, but the good heart and despite all the grump and harshness there was that real desire to do good and do "the right thing" and help people. Bless. The whole cliche of "seeing the darkness of humanity/having his faith wrecked in some way" but also still wanting to do good by people and help everyone and failing wasn't acceptable, etc, etc. It was oddly familiar, and make Junpei a little easier to approach with the base logic of treating him like he would Yanagi to a point and adjusting for the differences.

That being said, Junpei fell into that old "not asking the right questions" a fair bit as well. And didn't quite understand him in the same way Yanagi did, but expecting that would be expecting too much so he as fine just rolling with it.

But he liked that frankness, and it was useful to have someone around to bounce ideas and theories off of. Sex wasn't terrible either, and Junpei wasn't interested in making it more than just something clinical, which worked for Shiraishi. Hopefully hell get over that whole trauma of abandoning a whole group of them to become demons sooner rather than later, and keep an eye on Tamamo! :D

WAOW.

man. shiraishi and the swords. #relatable.

honestly higekiri was pretty chill to be around, once they did start talking more and exchanging information, because he wasn't bound to all those... picky social things that people usually got on his case about. genuinely, i don't think he fully remembers higekiri's name even now and honestly that's a big case of same energy there.

he had issues(?) with the lack of logic in some cases - ultimately his goal was trying to get back to his home and Not Dying, even if it didn't work out all that well in the long run, so the ditziness could get annoying when they were trying to get information out of higekiri, but most of the time? it was hilarious. and it annoyed other people too so that was also hilarious.

he is sorry that higekiri and hizamaru are separated but also there's not a whole lot they can do about it right now. he'd hope that love higekiri has for his brother to be a driving force in the surviving group maybe finding that illustrious fourth option at some point, but... yeah. he's not counting on it, he's sort of making peace with that.

POINTS BACK AT.

what a gremlin.

I DO REGRET THEY DIDN'T GET TO TALK MORE, wwx is such an interesting character and has such a complicated and deep view on things, shiraishi probably would have found talking with him about his necromancy interesting if difficult to believe.

That being said, he found wwx amusing. A bit weird, but he can roll with weird and non-sensical conversations -- the talk about food was just one of those things, really. People who are amusing, or unique are interesting to him, and he enjoyed the challenge of trying to figure out what made WWX tick.

Which wasn't super easy to do from a proverbial distance, honestly. He hopes that he gets on with sour sweets in the future. He was so determined to get used to them... maybe he'll root for him.
