[Escha awakens in an unfamiliar place...but to a familiar face.]

[Katy's leaned up against the brick wall, hands in the pockets of her jackets, lowkey trying to play it cool so as not to freak out in case Escha shows up all... gross, or something. Ghost-summoning sounds like it could get messy?

BUT LIKE HERE'S HOPING IT DOESN'T.]

Escha?

[ Escha doesn't seem too startled by her surroundings when she appears - looking happy and healthy and well dressed in some very normal clothes! (Well, normal by alchemist standards, ie: complicated. But they aren't sexy and they also aren't the ones she arrived in!)

She does startle a bit at who is here to see her, tilting her head to the side for a moment.

Then she gives a polite bow. ]

Oh!

[And there she is! Ahhh! For all the playing it cool she was doing a moment ago, she hops off the wall and heads over to wrap Escha up in a big hug.

...Except, Katy's arms slide right through her. She recoils, because, um, that's weird.]

Oh my god, right, you're a ghost... Right. Sorry.

[She shakes her head. Sort it out, Katy.]

Hey, um... So I know you aren't able to talk to me, but how are you doing over there? Is everyone okay?

[applechemist]

[ Escha winces at the attempted hug; she tries to brace herself for it, like she could catch Katy from it. But that's... The whole point. She can't.

So instead she just gives Katy a moment, then smiles and nods. And gives a quick motion to herself and then a thumbs up! See, look how well she looks! Nice clean clothes, hair done up. Seems good! ]

[That gets a smile, at least. Good.]

More ruins keep popping up on the horizon. Is that where you guys are?

And do you know what's been going on here? Or, you know. On the ship.

[ Escha shakes her head to the first part. She tries to think of a good way to worldlessly convey it, but just winds up motioning to various invisible spots in the air, pausing, and then making another one.

Then sighs, because she doubts that was useful.

For the second question she... Hesitates, then sort of waves her hand in the air in a 'so-so' motion? Then makes a rectangle with her fingers and then gestures bigger with both arms...

... And then she shakes it off and bounces on her heels a bit, like she's waiting permission for something? ]

[...Hm.]

Are you saying... you guys are still on the ship with us, but you're ghosts, obviously meaning we can't see you?

[And then, uhhhhh...]

Or you're able to watch some of what's been happening... on a screen?

[ Escha shakes her head to the first part, even making a big X with her arms!

... Then nods enthusiastically at the second part!!

And bounces on her heels impatiently again. ]

Oh! Good, okay, we're... Oh my god.

[She rubs a hand over her face.]

Haymitch was right. Again. It's a TV show. I'm gonna fuckin'— Sorry, never mind.

[...But the bouncing. Hm. Katy's at a loss.]

Do you... need something?

[ Escha doesn't seem to know what to make of the TV show comment, because she only learned about movies. Huh?? TV??? Sure if you say so???

Anyway her tail stands up at attention!

But she also realizes, belatedly, that she has no idea how to convey information. So she has to pause to think about it, holding up one finger in a 'hold on' gesture.

When she lowers her hands she tries to mime... Writing on her hand? And then... Talking, with that hand? ]

Okay...

[Thinking, thinking...]

Do you need me to pass on message?

[ ... Escha hesitates before nodding, but kind of. Waves her hand in a so-so motion again.

She cups her hands before holding them out. Then draws her hands back to point at where she had been holding her hands a moment ago.

Then holds up both hands, five fingers up on one, two on the other, putting them together. ]

Uh... Shit, sorry, I'm no good at charades. You need me to give you something?

[This is a shot in the dark, but:]

I know that you had a role, and you could use it to save people from exorcisms.

[She shrugs helplessly. She's giving you permission to talk about role things...?]

[ Escha nods, then shakes her head, waving a hand back and forth dismissively.

She points to Katy, then opens up her arms wider, as if to make that gesture bigger.

After a second she brightens up like she has an idea and... Takes a shoe off? And holds it up emphatically!!! Then sets it down and puts her hands over her eyes like binoculars or some kind of mask.

Then holds up seven fingers again. Her expression, unlike her miming, is pretty easy to read: she knows this isn't making any sense. ]

[Katy's nodding along, desperately trying to make sense of what Escha's trying to say... She feels like she's juuuust missing something.]

Okay, uh... You need me to give you seven of something. Seven people?

And it's got something to do with... what you can see from where you are?

[applechemist]

[ Hmm, okay... Escha shakes her head when Katy says "seven people," then shakes her head more rapidly at the last sentence. She points to Katy again before gesturing past her again.

She puts her hands like a bird and flaps it's wings! Then puffs up her chest and holds her hands in front of it, still as a bird. Then makes the eye goggles motion again. Then does, like, one hand still being the bird and the other hand still around her eyes. ]

...Bird's eye view...?

[Maybe Katy's just overthinking???]

[ Escha shakes her head...

New strategy! Sort of? She points to Katy. Then motions like talking with one hand before gesturing outwards.

Then picks up her shoe again!!! Before holding up seven fingers one more time. ]
