[ I guess he's just wandering around 4th basement, eyeing that strange looking room at the end of the hallway that just looks a little bit ... strange? The shape of is just off. He circles it once completely, and comes to a stop by the door, rapping his knuckles on the wall by the door.]
[Oh, there's mister cat man. He's not quite so perky when he wanders up because--sex bingo happened and it's been ROUGH. Anyway. He glances between Shiraishi and the door to the room the man is eyeballing.]
[ waggles eyebrows aggressively yes he's had a rough old time today, hm? ]
Hello again.
[ he taps the doorframe again, and then he nods. ]
I'm considering it. The more of these rooms we open, the more we have to use, yes? [ they'd got a clinic this way, hadn't they? that was important. and he's just... interested to find out. ]
[Yeah, it's why he's back in his black and white uniform because he's having to HIDE ALL THE ROPE MARKS. Thanks.]
This one is quite big. I wonder what's inside.
[He gives Shiraishi a subdued, but surprisingly sly smile. In a few strides, he steps up beside Shiraishi.]
Perhaps if we asked very nicely while we knocked? Elder brother said that is how he got into the first room he went to when we arrived. He asked to be let it.
[Even if that wasn't the case, Hizamaru would have never questioned Higekiri's word. Sorry Shiraishi.] We must do it together, Shiraishi-san. [Reaching out, he loops an arm behind Shiraishi's and takes the man's hand.]
Like this:
[He bows over very formally at the waist, keeping his other hand down by his side; the hand holding Shiraishi's keeps both of theirs down, too. He lowers his head and his eyes. (And winces a tad.) Come along.]
Nanashi-sama, we formally ask you to please allow us access to the inner depths of one of your hidden realms inside of this magnificent ship. Shiraishi-san and I would be very honored.
[ oh god here we go. he looks distinctly uncomfortable as he's being kinda... strong armed into asking a door very nicely to open?
But... fine? Alright? He lets himself be coaxed down into a bow, but doesn't say anything. Hizamaru has done enough of verbose part as far as he's concerned. And with far more of that sincerity he seems to have in spades compared to what Shirashi would be able to come up with.
[Patiently, he waits a moment or two to see what might transpire. But, in the end, it's much like the elevator incident they shared with Chuuya. Nothing. Dejectedly, he straightens back up, allowing Shiraishi to come with him, though he does let go of the man's hand.]
I suppose it won't work a second time like before. Sorry. Do you have any ideas, Shiraishi-san?
[ shiraishi snorts slightly, straightening up as soon as it's become apparent that he's free. and then he leans forwards a little, to examine the door closer. ]
If following your brother's footsteps and asking nicely doesn't work, we could always just pick the lock.
[ he glances sideways at hizamaru. ]
Unless you hav any other wild ideas to keep this momentum going?
[He glances between Shiraishi's look over and the door.]
Let's try it your way this time, Shiraishi-san, just to see. If that doesn't work... [For a moment, he's thoughtfully quiet.] If that doesn't work, perhaps we can use something heavy from the gym to get inside.
Not a bad idea. Would you need help carrying it over, or could you go and get it now? A battering ram might not be the worst way of bashing a door open.
[ he looks between the door and hizamaru and nods. ]
If it's doable, you can use a knife to get it open. It's not like we have a lockpick on hand, so we'll have to improvise a little. I know the theory of it, at least.
I... could try. If I can't, I will return to retrieve you. [Maybe he could bring a smaller one--one without much weight on it.] Good luck, Shiraishi-san. But please do not enter until I return, if you happen to open the door.
You shouldn't go inside alone. Be careful, Shiraishi-san.
[Skeptically (not about Shiraishi's skills, but the situation), he turns to run to the gym for the barbell. While Shiraishi makes an attempt on the lock.]
[ he digs in his pocket and pulls out a knife - folded in his pocket, with a rainbow hue thank you based gift shop - and flicks the blade up almost casually. crouching slightly to get a better look at the lock itself, he twists the hand with the knife slight to adjust the angle he slips the knife tip in at.
he shifts the angles and twist of his wrist every now and again, pressing his ear to the door to listen for any telling clicking sounds. ]
[It takes a little bit to get from here to there, especially with a precarious barbell. It's easier when it's across his shoulders, and he made sure there were only one twenty-five pound weight on either end.
It's killing his poor beat-up body, but he's a sword, and he will prevail.
Which is to say, before long, he's wandering carefully back up to where Shiraishi is crouched by the door, fiddling with the lock via the flamboyant knife.] I'm back, Shiraishi-san. [He tries not to drop the barbell on the floor haphazardly, but...
...it's hard not to drop it a bit once he's hefted it off. The weights leave tiny cracks in the floor. Oops.]
[ there's a moment, given that he's very absorbed in what he's doing and doesn't completely focus when hizamaru first talks to him, where the weight hits the ground and surprises him.
luckily he doesn't snap the knife point off in the lock when his hand jerks, but for a moment it feels like a close thing. the knife falls out of the lock, and it's only due to some quick reflexes that shiraishi manages to grab hold of it - mostly on the handle. it's fine.
...
hfffffffff. ]
...
No.
Whatever's in here, the door doesn't want to give up its secrets. [ he flips the knife back into its handle and tucks it back into his coat. ]
[He just blinks innocently, completely unaware that he gave Shiraishi that much of a start. It's fine? Cats should pay attention to puppies bumbling up anyway.]
Ah. I wonder if others had a lot of trouble getting into rooms--besides elder brother.
[He just thinks his brother is super amazing. For a moment, he peers at the door, and then he looks between Shiraishi and the barbell.]
Shall we, Shiraishi-san? Maybe together, we can knock it open.
[He seems excited to be able to do something a little wild after spending so much time behaving!]
[ but that's all he says before he's helping hizamaru swing the dumbbell into the door with as much force as he can muster. he can feel the resistance, the shake of the immoveable door meeting the weight rattling through his arms.
hm.
that's uncomfortable, really. ]
...
Hm.
[ he's tempted to just drop the weight, but lowers it down instead. ... mostly. he does just drop it when it's hovering over the ground. clang. ]
Manners-proof, lock-pick proof, and dumbbell proof? What now?
[Well, the rattle up through him doesn't help the soreness, and he grits his teeth against the feeling. God. He's willing to try again, but Shiraishi abandons the idea, and he doesn't have anything else to do but follow the man's lead.
He drops his end carefully on the floor, careful of his feet. When he straightens, he dusts his hands together.]
I'm not sure...
[For a long moment, he's quiet, thinking. Lots of people may go at it full-force, but maybe they really do need to think outside the box.]
I'm going to sing and dance.
[He doesn't wait for Shiraishi to try to shoot a hole in his choice. He uses his foot to roll the barbell out of the way, and then he backs up a bit.] Please look out, Shiraishi-san. I'll perform.
If someone is watching, perhaps they will open it for us.
he shifts the dumbbell more out of the way with his foot to provide a little more space. and then he tilts his head at him. ]
You've mentioned a love of this, hm? Seems like putting on a show is something shared across the board by you and your friends.
[ ...
at this point they might as well try anything to see if they can get this stupid door to open itself for them. if hizamaru wants to croon it into opening then... he is welcome to do his idolriffic best. ]
[Time to get into this fucking door with the power of his Idolness.]
Mm. My comrades and I enjoy performing, especially for our master. But sometimes for others at his request. Let's see if it works. Please cheer me on, Shiraishi-san.
[Not, like, for real, but Shiraishi can if wanted.
He bounces on his feet in place for a moment, and then falls into a ready stance, head bowed slightly. He decides for a theme song special. He doesn't hold back. His voice belts out around the area, loud and strong.]
Touken Ranbu, stronger and stronger! The steel that has been forged, it is now time for it to release. Touken Ranbu, higher and higher! Holding our pride in our hearts even when this body rots and crumbles to dust!
[The dance is...? Very good and in time with the beat. He's enthusiastic, careful of the sword at his side without drawing attention to placement. It's easy for him to pull it out at the correct moment, using it as a prop.
At the end, he just... ends with it pointed out directly at the door like it's a keyblade ready to pop that sucker wide open.]
[As Hizamaru enthusiastically sings and dances, the door will start to... wiggle? Yes. It wiggles slightly in its frame, swaying lightly without unlocking. This increases in speed and intensity as he continues to put on a show for it, up until he wraps up by pointing his sword at the door.
It's then, and only then, that the door unlocks for them.
Except, that instead of hearing the sound of the lock coming undone — they'll hear this. The door swings open to that sound, and ceases once they have a full view of the dark chasm waiting for them inside. Not a single bit of illumination filters into the room, despite the hallways being well lit.]
[ he has... not seen a sword!show yet, so he does watch with interest as hizamaru, bless him, dances his little heart out and sings like he's singing for his supper.
he doesn't cheer, but he does offer a polite -- as unsarcastic as possible -- round of applause when hizamaru finishes. but it sort of... trails off when the door seems to waver and wriggle and swings open to raptuous applause. ]
...
[ he really has no words.
it's so very dark in there that not even squinting seems to do anything. he turns to hizamaru, face carefully blank. ]
You don't have a light source on you, do you? Otherwise we'll need to check the walls for some kind of light source inside.
... Cautiously, of course. But that goes without saying.
He'll have to tell the others later to let them know sword song and dance is as amazing as they think it is. Anyway, he does give a polite bow to both Shiraishi and the... door? when he's finished. Because that's what you do.
When he straightens, though, there's a glint of resolve in his golden eyes. He faces the darkness with a little trepidation, but with resounding honor.]
I do not have any light, I'm afraid, but... we shall look for some inside. Please stay behind me, Shiraishi-san, so that I may protect you from anything. You may hold onto my jacket if you'd like.
[He broaches the thick darkness at the edge of the door, but glances at Shiraishi. Nods.] Be careful. Elder brother had difficulty with his last room. If something happens, please call out to me. Otherwise, we may split to look for a light. You go right, and I'll go left. [He gets to be kind of like a Captain! Scary. So he'll, like...
...strep right in with his sword out, letting Shiraishi follow. He'll be the shield, but he goes left.]
